Russia arrests four suspects suspected of plotting to kill top military officers on Ukraine’s orders
MOSCOW (AP) — Russia’s top security agency said Thursday it has arrested several suspects in connection with a Ukrainian plot to assassinate senior military officers, an announcement that follows last week’s killing of a top Russian general.
The Russian Federal Security Service is the senior successor to the KGB, and its Russian abbreviation is “FSB”. officials.
The Federal Security Service said the suspected organizer of the attack planned to use a remote-controlled car bomb to kill a senior official. Russia’s Federal Security Service released a video showing the arrest and interrogation of the suspect, whose name was not revealed.
The statement was issued following the death of Lieutenant General Igor Kirillov. Kirillov’s aides were also killed in the brazen attack, which Ukraine claimed responsibility for, once again taking conflict to the streets of the Russian capital.

Russian President Vladimir Putin described Kirillov’s killing as a “big mistake” by Russia’s security agencies and said they should learn from it and improve their efficiency.
