“I just left Wayne Gretzky, ‘the great man in hockey. I said, ‘Wayne, why don’t you run for prime minister of Canada and soon to be governor general of Canada – you Will win easily, you don’t even have to campaign,” Trump wrote.
“He has no interest, but I think the Canadian people should start a Wayne Gretzky draft movement. It would be great fun to watch!”
Trump’s comments come as Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau faces pressure to step down. Finance Minister Chrystia Freeland resigned from Trudeau’s cabinet earlier this month. Meanwhile, Opposition Leader Jagmeet Singh called on Trudeau to resign.

After Freeland resigned, Trump also expressed his opinion.
Trump had previously suggested that Canada should become the 51st state of the United States, and later wrote in his “Truth Society” magazine that “the great state of Canada is shocked that the Finance Minister resigns or is fired by Governor Justin Trudeau.”
“Her actions are completely toxic and are not conducive to a deal that is beneficial to very unfortunate Canadian citizens. We will not miss her!!!”
