Trump announces nomination of new ambassador
President-elect Trump has nominated Summers Farkas and John Arrigo to serve as ambassadors.
If confirmed, Arrigo, vice president of Arrigo Automotive Group in West Palm Beach, Fla., will serve as ambassador to Portugal.

“John is a highly successful entrepreneur in the automotive industry and a champion golfer. For more than three decades, he has been an incredible business leader in West Palm Beach and is respected by all,” Trump said Pugh wrote on his Truth social platform. “I’ve known John for a long time. He will do an incredible job for our country and always put America first.”
A 2021 Business Insider report said Arrigo has been a long-time associate of Trump.

Farkas is a model and philanthropist who will serve U.S. interests in the island nation of Malta.
Farkas previously served on Trump’s White House scholarship committee.

Trump said in a statement that she “has raised millions of dollars for charitable causes, including for the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, the Alzheimer’s Society, the Lighthouse Society, the New York Women’s Foundation and her ongoing support as a New York trustee.” Blue City Police Foundation.
