Mini Bibles on display for guests to read the Christmas story

According to news agency SWNS, a small version of the King James Bible is on display at Leeds Central Library in Leeds, England.

The Bible dates to approximately 1911 and measures 1.9 x 1.3 inches, small enough to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand.

The tiny Bible made headlines during the coronavirus lockdown when it was first discovered and is “believed to be one of the smallest examples of its kind in the world,” according to SWNS.

Leeds Central Library displays a range of “charming Christmas classics” alongside mini-texts.

Senior librarian Rhian Isaac told SWNS: “Christmas has been a central part of many memorable stories across generations and to bring these items together and bring back some cherished memories for visitors is very special of.

“We hope seeing them in person will give visitors an idea of ​​how Christmas was celebrated in the past and help them get into the festive spirit.”

The free exhibition will also feature 19th-century versions of Charles Dickens’ stories, including the holiday classic “A Christmas Carol.”

The library will also display a children’s Christmas game book called “Christmas Mince Pies,” which dates back to 1812.

SWNS adds that the book is filled with a variety of riddles and festive games that claim to “exercise all wise masters and unqualified ingenuity.”

The book even has markings from children who owned it and played the games at Christmas more than 200 years ago.
