Adrian’s publicist, Denise White, said in a statement: “The current legal case relates to a misunderstanding at Adrian’s court appearance as it relates to child support and he is actively working with his legal team. “He is committed to resolving this matter and moving forward proactively. “
Despite earning more than $100 million in his career, the former Minnesota Vikings running back has fallen on hard times with bank loans. Court records in February show that Peterson has yet to pay the $8.3 million he owes DeAngelo Vehicle Sales LLC, which he was ordered to pay more than three years ago. He was ordered to pay $2.4 million to creditors in 2019 and to a Minnesota bank the year before.
Peterson missed all but one game of the 2014 season after being indicted on charges of reckless or negligent injury to a child. He had no excuse for beating his then 4-year-old son with a tree branch.

In 2022, Peterson was arrested following an incident on a plane with his wife. But his wife said it was just an argument and the charges were dropped.
Peterson has 14,918 career rushing yards, leading the league in rushing yards three times. He is one of six running backs to rush for 2,000 yards in a season and is eight yards shy of breaking Eric Dickerson’s 2012 single-season record.

However, he does hold the single-game rushing record with 296 yards, which he accomplished in his rookie season. 253 of those yards came in the second half.
