‘Dynasty’ and ‘Stranger Things’ actor Mark Weathers dies at 77

During his illustrious career, Mark played Ted Dinard on the original series Dynasty, which aired from January 1981 to May 1989.
His character is the love interest of the sexually confused Steven Carrington (Al Corley)one of the main family members in the soap opera.
In dramatic scenes, Steven’s father Blake Carrington (John Forsyth) accidentally murdered Ted after seeing him hug his son – marking the end of Mark’s time on the show.
Most recently, Mark starred as Gary in the hit Netflix supernatural series, stranger things. The character is the coroner at the local morgue and appears in the first season.
During his acting career, Mark also appeared in a number of television shows and films, including Castle, Criminal Minds, Dallas, Days of Our Lives, Drop Dead Diva, and Fraser.
He also appeared in Hill Street Blues, LA Law, Magnum PI, Matlock, Remington Steele, Sense8, Wonder Woman, The Dukes of Hazzard and King of Queens.

Early in his acting career, he was able to get acting roles in commercials. These include roles in campaigns for McDonald’s, American Airlines, Folger’s Coffee, Irish Spring soap and Crest toothpaste.
Mark was born in Binghamton, New York, on June 25, 1947, and studied acting and directing at California State University, Los Angeles.
He later graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato, with a Master of Fine Arts degree.
