A way to save the Marvel Cinematic Multiverse is already available

Author: Chris Snelgrove Published

Just one word can make many Marvel fans instantly cringe: the multiverse. The multiverse was intended to add some flavor and spice to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but it quickly became a storytelling crutch, emphasizing interesting cameos over actual stories. Doctor Strange and the Multiverse of Madness is the biggest culprit in this regard. Many fans want Marvel to abandon this storytelling crutch entirely, but I have a different suggestion, a true believer: Instead of focusing on endless diverse cameos in the main universe, Kevin Feige and his team should instead provide us Offers entire movies set in alternate universes.

make my multiverse

In other words, my suggestion for the Marvel Multiverse moving forward is that we should have a “variant” What if…? TV series should be used in feature films. Like the comic it’s named after, the show shows how different a familiar universe would be if something different happened to change the timeline. However, I don’t think the MCU should be limited to “what ifs?” The cartoon story should take a page from Sony and make a live-action version similar to the Spider-Man movie.

Ultimate 2 Marvel Multiverse Comics

To keep it simple, Marvel could simply look at its own publishing history to see how the multiverse makes for great feature films. The low-hanging fruit would be an adaptation of the original Ultimate Comics series, which showcases different and updated versions of the iconic heroes as a way to attract new readers who might otherwise be intimidated by decades of comic book lore.

Nick Fury Marvel Ultimate Samuel Jackson

A movie or even an entire series of movies set in this universe would provide the perfect excuse to resurrect dead MCU heroes like Iron Man while recasting them as needed… after all, it was these comics that gave us the original A Nick Fury (based on Samuel L. Jackson, no less). Plus, just like the original comics, this type of movie can take what fans and writers love about the old universe while giving everything a much-needed modern twist.

So Many Marvel Multiverse Options

Marvel Squadron Supreme Comics

But Marvel Comics has given us other multiverses that would make for great feature films, including Earth-65, the original home of Spider-Woman (Gwen Stacy), and Spider-Woman and an evil version of Horseshoe. Murdoch Confrontation. Of course, making a live-action Spider-Gwen movie would mean Marvel would need to team up with Sony again, but both studios could win. So far, Marvel’s latest addition to Deadpool and Wolverineand Sony’s only hit superhero movies are “Venom” and the “Spider-Man: Universe” movies. Frankly, a live-action Spider-Gwen-themed movie (as fans know it) could be the hit movie both studios desperately need.

As a long-time Marvel Comics fan, I think there are other multiverses that deserve the big screen treatment, including the Squadron Supreme multiverse (they’re like Justice League, but cool). Additionally, while we need a proper MCU X-Men before we can get a multi-mutant movie, the Age of Apocalypse and Powers of X comics represent old and new perspectives on multi-dimensional mutant storytelling respectively. Heck, if Marvel can get over the hiatus from Hulk solo movies (where are our live-action movies) planet hulk Movies, you cowards?

In addition to bringing exciting new movies to Marvel fans, this approach keeps the Marvel Universe endlessly fresh. New actors may play old characters, even as existing actors may unconventionally play wild versions of familiar characters. Disney’s writers have carte blanche to adapt the best multiverse comics, or create something new entirely from scratch. What I’m saying is, this is a very special time What if…? Adventure: What if Marvel stopped worrying about protecting its sacred timeline and could instead tell the cool, standalone stories that have earned them so many fans in the first place?

The ball is in your court, Marvel. If you need a creative consultant to give you these very visible advice on a regular basis, my prices are very reasonable. Especially compared to Plan A, which keeps pumping in cash for Robert Downey Jr. every time you’re worried about your franchise failing.
