“A Warning to the Nation: The Shadow of a Menace”

President Biden unleashed a scathing rebuke against his predecessor, describing the actions of the president-elect as a “serious menace to democracy.”

As the anniversary of the U.S. Capitol uprisings on January 6, 2021, approached, Biden was asked if he still viewed Trump as a threat to democracy.

“We must reinvigorate fundamental democratic principles,” Biden told reporters in the White House’s majestic East Room on Sunday. “I firmly believe his actions pose a significant threat to democracy. I sincerely hope we can move beyond this aberration.”

Biden made these remarks to the press after signing the Social Security Fairness Act.

Biden also discussed his plans to visit New Orleans on Monday to offer condolences to the families of the victims and meet with officials in the aftermath of the New Year’s Day terrorist attack in the city.

“We have definitively established that one individual acted alone in New Orleans. All speculation about conspiring with others, devoid of any evidence, is nil,” Biden said.
