WASHINGTON (Reuters) – President-elect Donald Trump has nominated former football star Herschel Walker to be U.S. ambassador to the Bahamas, Trump said on his Truth social platform on Tuesday.
Walker, a Republican, lost the 2022 Georgia race to Democratic U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock.
Walker is one of Trump’s earliest endorsers in 2022. He is a staunch opponent of abortion and has faced accusations that he paid two women to have abortions after they became pregnant, which he denies.
