Chicago Med’s Ashlei Sharpe Chestnut Talks Goodwin’s Season 10 Fate

In the midseason finale, which aired on November 20, Goodwin learned who her stalker was when she cornered her in her office. During their argument, Goodwin was stabbed and began to bleed. However, after hearing Dr. Dean Archer (Steven Weber) appear outside her office door, she makes a last-ditch effort to escape.
As the elevator doors began to close, Archer saw a bloodied Goodwin running out of the room, screaming for help as her attacker appeared behind her. The episode ends with Archer trying to go back and help his old friend and boss.
“When I read it, I thought, ‘Oh no, what’s going to happen?'” Chestnut recalled. us Learn about Goodwin’s traumatic moment in this episode. “I was really nervous and asked for an advanced copy of the script, but their answer was, ‘No.'”

Chestnut was coy about how Naomi might be involved in Goodwin’s storyline, but explained that her character will get more screen time in the second half of the season. (Chesnutt joined the cast as student doctor Naomi at the end of season nine and has since become a recurring character.)
“I can tease [that] Naomi will have some actual drama with characters other than Dr. Archer and Dr. Lennox (Sara Ramos),” she said. “This is Naomi’s favorite person, [but] Beyond these two, there’s going to be some drama going on.
Since becoming a member of ER, Naomi has worked closely with Archer and Lennox, who shared ER management responsibilities until the mid-season finale. At that point, Goodwin named Lenox, a new member of their staff this year, as the sole leader.
The staffing changes brought Archer to Goodwin’s office during November, when he was planning to resign.

For her part, Naomi has been stuck in the middle of Lennox and Archer all season as they clash over how to successfully run the ER. According to Chestnut, that push and pull won’t completely go away when the show returns.
“I’m between Lenox and Dr. Archer [still]. There’s more to it,” she shared. “You’re going to see more of the relationship between Dr. Lennox and Naomi.”
