Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter and fiancée delete social media amid rumors and criticism

Heisman Trophy winner Travis Hunter is taking a break from social media, and his fiancée Leanna Lenee is facing a torrent of criticism online.

It was noticed on Sunday that Hunter and Lenny’s Instagram accounts had been deactivated.

Since being named college football’s best player this year, the Colorado Buffaloes star has been through a lot online as rumors, criticism about his relationship and more have begun to circulate.

Lenny’s reaction seemed to spark an online frenzy after Hunter was officially named the Heisman winner last weekend.

Some took exception to Lenny sitting back after hugging Hunter and congratulating him, as others in the New York room remained standing, applauding the two-way star while he greeted others. Hunter eventually returned to Leni, leaned over, hugged her again, and walked out onto the stage.

Then, at a meet-and-greet event, a video of Lenny appearing annoyed because she just sat and watched Hunter meet fans became the target of criticism.

Hunter’s longtime girlfriend Lenee, who proposed to him in February, made a TikTok video to defend her relationship. However, social media trolls continued to use the footage to add fuel to the fire.

Hunter, in turn, defended his fiancée during his Twitch stream.

“I know what I’m getting,” he said. “I know my daughter. My daughter has been with me for five years. You’re just now starting to talk about me, you’re just starting to hang out with me. Come on, man.”

Despite Hunter and Lenny’s attempts to make people understand, their comments and criticisms continue, so it appears they are done with the issue for the time being.

Hunter, meanwhile, is preparing for his final college game in the Alamo Bowl against BYU. Typically, players who are drafted high in the NFL draft are expected to skip bowl games, but Hunter explained why he won’t be one of that group.

“It’s definitely important because I started this thing with Coach Prime, Shedeur and most of the coaches on the coaching staff, so I want to finish it right,” he said on Dec. 13 when asked why he was participating. Hunter said during the game.

Hunter is expected to be a top-five pick in next year’s draft given his ability to impact the game on both sides of the ball as a wide receiver and cornerback.
