Denzo Washington becomes pastor, Hollywood actor admits you ‘can’t talk’ about religion in industry

Denzel Washington received his ministerial license as the 69-year-old movie star took on a new role in life.

Washington was baptized by Archbishop Christopher Bryant at Temple Kelly in New York City on Saturday.

“It took a while, but I’m finally here…if [God] “He can do this for me, and there’s nothing he can’t do for you,” Washington said, according to Bryant. “The sky is truly the limit.”

Bryant shared a photo on Facebook of the moment Washington gave his life to Christ.

“We celebrate the entry of Minister Denzel Washington into the priesthood as he receives his pastoral license today at the Church of God in Christ, a truly exciting moment,” the post read.

“He’s dressed like this because, in the same ceremony, he was baptized by water,” Bryant added. “Baptisms and consecrations were held at New York City’s historic Kelley Temple, a place close to his heart. Denzel Washington visited this church as a child and visited another with actor Robert Townsend Witnessed being filled with the Holy Spirit after church.

Fox News Digital has reached out to representatives in Washington for additional comment.

“Denzel Washington’s recent commitment to faith and service is truly inspiring,” Bryant added in another Facebook post. “His baptism and license to preach were the pinnacle of a life of faith.”

Washington recently admitted that you “can’t talk” about religion in the industry.

“When you see me, you will see that I am capable of doing the best with everything my Lord and Savior has given me,” the “Gladiator II” star wrote for Esquire. “I’m not afraid.”

“I don’t care what other people think. Look, talk about the fear part of it – you can’t talk like that and win an Oscar. You can’t talk like that and party. You can’t say that in this town,” Washington added.

“I’m free now. No one in this town talks about it. No one talks about it. It’s not fashionable. It’s not sexy. But that doesn’t mean people in Hollywood don’t believe it. There’s no such thing.” Regardless, the pair To me it means a street called Hollywood Boulevard,” he wrote.
