KBO Doosan Bruins sign Zach Logue

Korean Baseball Association Doosan Bears sign left-hander Zach Logue Jeeho Yoo of Yonhap News reports that he will receive a contract worth $800,000. This includes a $100,000 signing bonus for MSM Sports Management clients. In response, Doosan canceled its previous agreement with righty Thomas Hatch Because of concerns about his health.

That presented an opportunity for the 28-year-old Logue. The southpaw is coming off a stellar Triple-A showing. Logue pitched 97 1/3 innings of 2.59 ERA ball in the upper minor leagues between the Braves and Dodgers systems. This earned him a late-season guest spot in Los Angeles. Logue pitched twice for the Dodgers, allowing four runs in two innings.

Logue has appeared in the majors for three straight seasons. Most of the experience comes from the 2022 A’s. The following season, Logue made three long relief appearances for the Tigers, allowing nine runs in 11 innings.

The Dodgers declined to offer him a contract last month. He could certainly find a minor league contract if he wanted to stay in the affiliate, but he would have better guarantees with the Bears. This will be Rogge’s first overseas production after spending eight years as a teenager. He joins fellow left-handers Cole Owen and outfielders Jack Cave As three foreign players in the team.
