1 dead, 9 injured, vehicle catches fire
A shooting in Baltimore County, Maryland, on Tuesday left one person dead, nine others injured and a car engulfed in flames, police said.
Baltimore County Police Department officers responded to the Loch Raven Boulevard area of Towson around 7:15 p.m. for reports of multiple shootings.
“When officers arrived, they found a vehicle overturned and on fire,” Baltimore County Police Chief Robert McCullough said at a news conference. “Multiple victims were found and the fire department was notified to provide assistance.”

“This is believed to be a mass shooting,” Baltimore County police wrote in X’s update.
McCullough said one person died at the scene and nine others were injured and transported to local hospitals. Police believe the incident was targeted.
“It seems to be intentional,” McCullough said. “We believe the individuals involved are known to each other and there is no ongoing threat to the public.”
The Baltimore Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also responded to the scene, the agency confirmed to ABC News.
The investigation is still in its early stages. Police are working to determine the cause of the crash and shooting. Evidence of gunfire was found on the exterior wall of a nearby building, and shell casings were found in the area.

Baltimore County Executive Johnny Olszewski called the incident a shocking tragedy. “This type of violence is rare in Baltimore County,” he said. “We will provide all necessary resources to support our police and fire services and work to bring those responsible to justice.”
Authorities urged residents to stay away from the area.
