Ivy League CEO murder suspect huddled with legal team, not family: sources

Sources tell Fox Digital News that accused executive killer Luigi Mangione has met with his attorneys multiple times but has yet to receive a visit from his family.
Mangione met with attorney Karen Agnifilo and her attorney husband Marc Agnifilo on Friday. He also met with Pennsylvania attorney Thomas Dickey. Meanwhile, investigators in Blair County, Pennsylvania, where Mangione is being held, said his family has not yet visited him.
A spokesman for Friedman Agnifilo confirmed that Agnifilo will represent Mangione as he faces a second-degree murder charge in New York in connection with the Dec. 4 shooting in Manhattan.
Agnifilo previously served as chief assistant district attorney in the Manhattan District Attorney’s Office for seven years and has experience in the New York City criminal justice system. She has been in private practice with Agnifilo Intrater LLP for the past three years.

Luigi Mangioni, the suspect in the slaying of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson, has hired Karen Friedman Agnifilo to represent him, Fox News Digital has learned. (Fox News Digital’s David Dee Delgado, left, and Todd Estrin Photography, right.)
Dickey, meanwhile, is a longtime Pennsylvania attorney with more than 40 years of experience.
The news that Friedman Agnifilo was representing Mangione came after investigators determined that the 3D-printed gun Mangione was holding when he was arrested matched three shell casings found at a crime scene in Midtown Manhattan. His fingerprints also matched those found on items near the shooting scene.

The suspect also faces charges in Pennsylvania of carrying a firearm without a license, forging a firearm, falsely identifying himself to authorities and possessing an “instrument of crime.” In addition to the murder charge, New York prosecutors hit him with three counts of unlawful possession of a weapon and forgery.
Mangione’s attorney denies his client is responsible for the killings in New York and believes he will plead not guilty to murder charges and other charges in New York. Mangione also plans to plead not guilty to Pennsylvania charges related to possession of a firearm and possession of a false ID, which authorities said was found on him during his arrest, Dickey said.
