PGA Tour announces fall schedule, non-stop in Las Vegas

The PGA Tour announced its 2025 FedEx Cup fall schedule on Tuesday, with a trip to Las Vegas not on the schedule for the first time since 1982.

The seven-game tournament will begin two weeks after the Tour Championship, with the Procore Championship scheduled for September 11-14 in Napa, California. The schedule will be paused for two weeks, including the Ryder Cup, before resuming at the Sanderson Farms Championship in Jackson, Mississippi, from October 2-5.

The PGA Tour in Japan has a new title sponsor and home venue, with the Gulfstream Classic taking place in Yokohama from October 9-12.

The FedEx Cup fall schedule is used to determine PGA Tour eligibility for the next season.

“Building on an incredibly compelling FedExCup Fall season, the upcoming qualification changes add to the drama and excitement for fans,” said PGA Tour chief competition officer Tyler Dennis. Players are at greater risk than ever.

“With events taking place in four U.S. states, Japan, Mexico and Bermuda, the end of the 2025 golf calendar is sure to excite our fans around the world while also leaving a lasting impact on the communities in which we compete.”

The Black Desert Championship in southern Utah will be held Oct. 23-26, but the Shriners Children’s Open, a PGA Tour staple since 1983, is no longer on the schedule. The Shriners withdrew as title sponsor in October.

The tournament began in 1983 as a five-round tournament known as the Panasonic Las Vegas Pro Celebrity Classic, with Fuzzy Zoeller as the winner at the Las Vegas Country Club. The next year, it was renamed the Panasonic Las Vegas Invitational, and Zimbabwean Dennis Watson won the championship, becoming the first event in the history of the PGA Tour to have a prize pool of US$1 million.

Starting in 2004, the event was reduced to 72 holes.

The last three official events will be the World Technical Championships in Los Cabos, Mexico (November 6-9), the Butterfield Bermuda Championship (November 13-16) and the RSM Elite in Sea Island Tournament (November 20-23) (Georgia) Golf Club.
