Washington—— Former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-San Francisco) was injured while traveling with a bipartisan congressional delegation to Luxembourg for an official event and was taken to the hospital for evaluation, according to her spokesperson.
“Speaker Emeritus Pelosi is currently receiving quality care from doctors and medical professionals,” her spokesman Ian Cragg wrote in a statement. “She continues to work, but unfortunately she is unable to attend the remainder of her course [congressional delegation] This honors the courage of our service members in one of the greatest acts of American heroism in our nation’s history.
This trip to Luxembourg was to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Battle of the Bulge. Cragg wrote that Pelosi was honored to travel with the delegation, many of whom had family members who fought in World War II, including her uncle Johnny.
