Top pro quits PGA Tour Q-School and signs with LIV Golf

LIV Golf has signed its latest commitment from a player who is on the precipice of his PGA Tour career.

On Tuesday, LIV Golf announced that No. 1 Korean pro Yubin Jang has signed to play for Kevin Na’s LIV team, the Iron Heads.

The 22-year-old phenom turned pro in 2023, a year later with two championships and five runner-up finishes, earning KPGA Player of the Year honors. With this honor, we enter the final phase of the 2024 PGA Tour Qualifying School.

Zhang, currently ranked No. 135 in the Official World Golf Ranking, has his sights set on PGA Tour rewards and a potential future and plans to participate in the final phase of qualifying school starting on December 12. transactions are highly competitive.

Ironhead captain Rona, who has five wins in his PGA Tour career, spoke about Jang’s signing in a press release, writing: “As a promising young talent from South Korea, I have enjoyed my career over the years. The Ironheads need young talent like him to push our veterans forward and I believe he has the ability to become a world class golfer.

“Yubin’s emergence shows young Korean golfers a clear path to competing with the best in the world, and his addition to our team is a major boost for our team through this year’s tournament in South Korea. This is an incredibly exciting time for Korean golf.

The Ironheads struggled in the 2024 LIV regular season, entering the LIV Dallas Championship in 13th place. But they performed well in the tournament and finished second.

Shinichiro Zuma and Danny Lee are part of the 2024 Na team, and both have signed extensions with the Iron Heads in 2025.

The 2025 LIV golf season will kick off on February 7 in Saudi Arabia.
