US Postal Service worker shot to death at Missouri City plant, co-worker arrested

A worker was shot and killed Monday night at a U.S. Postal Service processing facility in Missouri City, Texas, and a co-worker was taken into custody, Fox 26 Houston reported, citing local police and the U.S. Postal Service.
The fatal incident occurred around 10 p.m. when police were called to a processing facility at 90 Alt Highway 611 following reports of a shooting.
Police found a worker dead inside with a gunshot wound and arrested another employee.

The spacious facility had been evacuated, and video from the scene showed dozens of workers outside and a heavy police presence.
It’s unclear exactly how the incident occurred and where in the building it occurred.
The identities of the victim and suspect have not been released.

Mail processing at the facility has been suspended during the investigation. The facility is located approximately 14 miles southwest of Houston.
Dana Carter, an inspector with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service’s Houston division, held a press conference outside the facility Monday evening to confirm that the shooting did occur.

“I can confirm there was someone involved. That person is in custody and the community is safe,” Carter told ABC13. “At this time, there is a victim. The person is deceased and this is an active investigation as well. We will continue to complete this. process and prepare to notify next of kin.”
He said the incident did not pose a threat to the public.
Fox News Digital has reached out to the Missouri City Police Department and the U.S. Postal Service for comment but did not immediately receive a response.
