AST SpaceMobile enters long-term agreement with Vodafone to expand global coverage – AST SpaceMobile (NASDAQ: ASTS)

AST Space Mobility Company ASTS Shares were higher in premarket trading on Monday. The company reveals a final long-term commercial agreement Vodafone Group plc video on demand By 2034.
This collaboration marks significant progress in expanding global broadband connectivity.
The agreement establishes a framework for Vodafone to provide space-based cellular broadband connectivity in its domestic market and to other operators through its partner market program.
Vodafone has been a major investor and technology partner of AST SpaceMobile since 2018, contributing to major breakthroughs in direct-to-device 2G, 4G and 5G connectivity.
Vodafone has ordered its first Block 1 BlueBird gateway to advance the deployment of AST SpaceMobile’s global network.
The gateway will enable users outside traditional coverage areas to connect directly to AST SpaceMobile’s satellites, routing data through Vodafone’s broadband access network.
The next-generation Block 2 BlueBird satellite will have a communications array of up to 2,400 square feet and will have 10 times the bandwidth capacity of current BlueBird satellites.
This will enable peak data transfer speeds of up to 120 Mbps, supporting voice, full data and video applications.
Last week, AST SpaceMobile partnered with Cadence Design Systems to develop the AST5000 ASIC for its BlueBird satellite program.
Last month, AST SpaceMobile reported third-quarter revenue of $1.1 million and an adjusted loss of $1.10 per share, missing analysts’ expectations for a loss of 20 cents per share.
